There’s a peculiar man in the white house. A man that’s been called a lot of things, from “racist” to “Troompa Loompa”. We’ve heard it all.

Donald Trump is certainly not the most beloved of presidents in US history.

Of course, there are also many individuals that do support him as president of the United States, but you won’t see that on mainstream media. All the major media outlets are taking every opportunity to throw dirt at him they can get.

How did we get here? How did this man, who is literally hated around the world, become the leader of a global superpower?

Well, that’s what we’re here to answer. Buckle your seatbelts and power up that flux capacitor, because we’re traveling back to before Donald Trump was born.

There’s a lot that needed to happen for this great leader of ours to come into existence, a lot more than what I could cover in a single article. So, let’s start with Donald Trump’s paternal grandfather.

Don’t touch anything. We don’t want to alter the futu—… on second thought, touch everything and let’s see what happens.

Before Donald Trump Existed

Believe it or not, Donald Trump is a normal man.

Well… normal in a sense that he wasn’t hatched, regardless of what liberal media tells you. This means he had parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents, leading all the way to the greatest grandparents, Adam and Eve (Or whatever you may believe. Perhaps our ancient cell-sized grand-”parents” that eventually evolved into humans).

Yeah, so what? What does having grandparents have to do with Trump becoming president?

Well, a lot, actually.

If Trump’s grandparents hadn’t met, he’d never have been born, and the world we live in would be entirely different than what it is today.

If Trump didn’t exist, Facebook would likely have shut down by now due to lack of public interest. After all, the only thing I ever see on there are social media addicts complaining about how poorly the country is being run, and how much better they could do if they were in office… Maybe if Trump hadn’t been born, someone we know would have run for and successfully been elected president of the United States…

Thankfully, that never happened!

So, what did happen?

Frederick and Elizabeth Trump

Donald Trump’s grandfather, Frederick Trump, was born in Kallstadt, Palatinate (Modern-day Germany) 1869.

Yes. President Trump’s grandfather was an immigrant.

Ironic, I know.

To be fair, he emigrated legally, even if it was to avoid fulfilling military service to his homeland.

Did everyone in that time period stare creepily like this?

Anyways, the likelihood of Donald Trump’s grandfather even being born is another story, but let’s just accept that fact and move on to the unlikely scenario that he legally and successfully emigrates to the US, amasses a fortune, moves back to Kallstadt, finds a wife, gets kicked out of his own country for draft dodging, moves back to NY, and shortly thereafter has a son which he humbly names Frederick (aka “Fred” Trump).

No one in their right mind would have bet on all the above events happening, even if it could have made them billions.

To give you a comparable example let’s select two random individuals that live in modern-day Germany, both of which whom you know nothing about. Now, what do you believe the chances are that those two individuals will meet each other, fall in love, marry, move to the US, have a child, then that child grows up, gets married, and has a son which miraculously becomes the president of the United States some 70 years later?

Of course, there are many other variables at play, but you get the idea. The chances of the above example happening are practically nonexistent.

Frederick’s Son – “Fred” Trump

The odds of you being born as you are astronomically low. In fact, it’s so close to impossible, that chances are basically zero.

Well, against those odds, “Fred” Trump (Donald Trump’s father) was born on October 11th, 1905 in New York City.

Unfortunately, Fred’s father, Frederick, succumbed to the deadly 1918 flu pandemic which was responsible for the death of 3-5% of the world’s population (yeah, it was that bad). Fred was only 12 years old at the time, but he and his mother carried on with Frederick’s real estate business.

Fred lived a relatively normal life and eventually married a woman named Mary Anne MacLeod. Together they had five children, and one of them was named – (you guessed it) Donald Trump.

“Before Trump” Summary

Alright, a quick recap of what’s happened thus far in order for Trump to exist exactly as he is today:

  1. Both of Donald Trump’s grandparents are born exactly as they are, carrying the specific DNA needed to eventually pass down to all their future descendants.
  2. Donald Trump’s grandfather, Frederick Trump, draft dodges by moving to the US.
  3. Frederick Trump attains significant wealth while in America through various business endeavors
  4. Frederick returns back to his home country temporarily to find a wife
  5. After getting married, Frederick and his wife move back to New York City, and Frederick finds a job as a barber and hotel manager
  6. Due to Elizabeth’s severe homesickness, the couple moves back to Germany
  7. Shortly after their arrival, Frederick is labeled as a draft dodger, and the family is booted from the country and they move back to the US
  8. Frederick and Elizabeth have a son which they name “Fred” (Donald Trump’s father)
  9. Frederick is killed by the 1918 flu pandemic
  10. “Fred” Trump continues to succeed in life, and eventually finds a wife
  11. The couple has 5 children, one of which is named Donald Trump

Success of Donald Trump

While I’m sure you’re dying to know the details of Donald Trump’s childhood, for the sake of time, I’ll go ahead and skip to what he’s most well known for – His money.

It helps to be born with a silver spoon in your mouth, but it’s even better if you know how to manage your wealth effectively.

Love him or hate him, Trump has done well for himself financially. Yes, he was born into a wealthy family, but managing and growing that wealth is where he has seen most of his success.

Business

Trump has a horde of real estate properties throughout the United States. Some of the largest include:

  • Trump International Hotel, Las Vegas
  • Trump Tower, NY
  • Trump Plaza, NJ
  • Trump Hollywood
  • And sooo much more

While I don’t really support all his business practices, it’s difficult to deny the success they’ve brought him. His hotel and casino businesses have been declared bankrupt 6 times between 1991 and 2009, but he did it with the intention of trimming his debts, which was successful.

Of course, as I mentioned above, that’s not really what I would call great business practice, but he’s managed to utilize these loopholes to stay ahead of the game. I wouldn’t call it ethical, but evidently, it works.

While real estate is his most prominent and successful business, Trump’s organization is involved with hundreds of individual business ventures and partnerships.

Had it not been for Trump’s success (and failures) in his businesses, his personal funding for his presidential campaign would have been nonexistent. And while we’d all like to think that money doesn’t play a large role in who becomes the next president, we all know that the richest candidate is most often the winner.

Books and Other Publicity

The book that brought Donald Trump into the spotlight was Trump: The Art of the Deal, reaching number 1 on The New York Times Best Seller list for a cumulative 48 weeks.

Though The Art of the Deal was what made Trump famous, it was only one of many books he authored or co-authored. Here are some of his most well-known titles:

  • Trump: Surviving at the Top
  • Trump: The Art of the Comeback
  • The America We Deserve
  • Trump: How to Get Rich
  • Why We Want You to Be Rich
  • Crippled America: How to Make America Great Again

With so many books on the market, there’s a lot of potential for this man to become well known. If Trump had decided authoring or co-authoring books wasn’t “his thing”, he may not have had the book-nerd-businessmen category of voters support him during the presidential election.

While authoring the above books likely brought Donald Trump significant publicity, nothing says “look at me” like being on TV.

In 2003, Trump produced and hosted a show titled The Apprentice in which contestants competed against each other for the opportunity to work in a one-year management position at the Trump Organization. The classic “You’re Fired” phrase is still used in memes today.

What a way to be memorialized… to be put into a meme.

Donald Trump Presidential Candidacy

If it weren’t for all the above-mentioned events, you might never have heard of a man named Donald Trump, and perhaps he wouldn’t even exist!

But he does indeed exist, as unfortunate as that is to some people. Not only does he exist, but he’s currently sitting in the White House as the president of the United States, thinking of his next Twitter post.

It may seem unlikely, but it happened – Donald Trump entered into the presidential race in 2015 and claimed victory over not only the Republican party but defeated the Democratic candidate Hillary regardless of losing the popular vote).

Winning the Republican Primary

Donald Trump was loved and supported by all Republican candidates, as well as nearly all Republican voters. Fanfare welcomed him into nearly every room, and crowds of adoring fans followed him everywhere, throwing flowers and other gifts onto the stage whenever he would give a speech.

If you know anything about the Republican primary of 2016, you’ll know that none of the above is true. The other Republican candidates could barely tolerate Trump, let alone support him. You may think this would make it impossible for him to win the primary, but you would be wrong.

There were 17 other major Republican candidates, but not one of them even came close to receiving the level of support that Trump was getting. Ted Cruz was the closest but still received less than 20% republican delegate support.

Winning the Presidency

Now that Trump won the Republican primary, all he has to do is beat the Democratic nominee, right? That seems simple enough.

Oh, what’s that? Democrats and Republicans hate each other? The percentage of Republican voters is often smaller than Democrats or independents? A Democrat voting for a Republican candidate is less likely than winning the lottery and getting struck by lightning simultaneously?

Well, I guess that nixes Trump’s chances of winning the preside—oh wait…

That’s right, Donald Trump, against all odds, won the majority vote of the electoral college. Without getting into the details of how exactly the electoral college works, it’s possible to lose the majority vote and still win the presidential election – which is exactly what Donald Trump did.

Based purely on the number of presidential elections (44 before Trump’s election) and the number of times there’s been an electoral and popular vote split (4 before Trump’s election), there’s only an 11% chance that Donald Trump would have won the presidency in this way.

11% alone is a pretty low chance, but you also need to consider everything that had to take place leading up to the election.

The man was and is a celebrity. It doesn’t matter if you hate him, because your hate for him has literally made him more popular and more well known. All the news ever covered during the presidential race was Trump, regardless of whether or not they had good or bad things to say about him (It was always bad, in case you were wondering).

If alien life forms exist, they would know who Donald Trump is based solely on all the hate he receives via social media.

I assume everyone was hoping it would hurt his candidacy, but as the saying goes, “All publicity is good publicity if they spell your name right”.

How Could All That Happen?

So, here we are. Donald Trump is the president of the United States of America and there’s little that any of his “haters” can do about it.

Leading all the way back to his Grandfather (and further if we had decided to spend the time), Donald Trump’s very existence is quite frankly a miracle, let alone all the events that had to transpire in order for him to win the presidency.

As I’m sure you’ll find in much of the content on this site, the events that occur on a daily basis aren’t quite as “normal” as one might seem. Donald Trump becoming president is just one of many such events with so much more behind the scenes than we may realize.
